Both Bluetooth gateway/beacon positioning and GPS can provide positioning, which brings great convenience to our lives, but there is an essential difference between Bluetooth gateway/beacon positioning and GPS positioning.
Both Bluetooth gateway and Bluetooth beacon positioning belong to Bluetooth positioning, which are divided into network-side and terminal-side positioning, and are used for indoor positioning. GPS positioning is used for outdoor positioning. The Bluetooth positioning principle is: three-point positioning, based on the surrounding Bluetooth RSSII (Received Signal Strength Indication, signal field strength indication) value, positioning by the principle of triangulation. The basic principle of GPS positioning is to determine the location of the point to be measured based on the instantaneous position of the high-speed moving satellite as the known starting data, and the method of rendezvous in space distance.
